Winter Spiti from Mumbai: Delhi or Chandigarh, Budget and Return

From Mumbai you can fly to both Delhi and Chandigarh. Which one is better depends on how your operator runs the trip.

Delhi
- More flight timings, so it is easier to find an arrival that fits.
- A longer road distance to the hills, usually with a night near the start.

Chandigarh
- Closer to Shimla and Kinnaur, so the first road day is shorter.
- Fewer flights. Delays are harder to absorb.

Ask your operator where the group meets, at what time, and what happens if you miss the pickup.

Return planning. The road back can be delayed by snow. Book a return flight at least a day after the scheduled end, ideally from the same city.

Budget view. Budget your flights, a pre-trip night, meals outside the package, winter gear and travel insurance on top of the package price.
