Around Manali you can find paragliding, river rafting on the Beas, ropeway rides and snow activities. The harder part is planning them well.
Check for restrictions first.
The district administration can pause adventure activities such as rafting and paragliding, usually around the monsoon, and it can change from year to year. Check the current status before you book or pay for anything.
Where things happen.
Paragliding is offered around Solang Valley and nearby sites. Rafting on the Beas is commonly run from points near Kullu, so ask your operator about the meeting point and travel time. Snow activities in winter are usually around Solang, and depend on how much snow has fallen.
Rohtang.
Activities toward Rohtang depend on snow, permits and official orders. Do not plan a fixed date around them.
Questions to ask any operator
- Are you registered with the tourism department, and can I see it?
- Are the pilot or guide certified, and is insurance included?
- What is the final price, and what does it include (photos, transport, gear)?
- What happens if weather cancels it? Is it a refund or a reschedule?
- Are there age, weight or health limits?
Get it in writing.
Prices change with season and demand. Book with a verified operator, get the price and terms in writing, and keep the receipt.
Know the risk.
Adventure activities carry real risk even with a registered operator. Skip an activity if weather or equipment looks wrong to you.

It is a risk activity. Weather, pilot and equipment all matter, so ask the questions above and do not push yourself if conditions look poor.
Can I do these in July or August?
Often not. Activities can be paused during the monsoon, so check before you plan.
